Where is the arch in Washington Square Park?
The gateway to Greenwich Village, the symbolic arch is located on 5th Ave at the north end of Washington Square Park. Inspired by Roman triumphal arches, the structure was built in 1889 to celebrate the centennial of George Washington's inauguration. Originally made of wood and stucco; the Arch remains one of the Village's important urban landmarks. -

It's just 6 blocks from the Walker Hotel Greenwich Village, or it is easily accessible via NYC Subway (A/C/E, B/D/F) to West 4th/Washington Square, and the N/R to 8th Street or the Q to Union Square, or the 4/5/6 to Union Square.
