Gratitude
November in New York invites a quieter kind of reflection—the kind that comes from good food, shared purpose, and moments that move a little slower. This month, Walker Hotels celebrates that spirit with two special gatherings at Society Cafe, a partnership that feeds both people and purpose, and a few ways to experience gratitude across the city and beyond.
Gather at Society Cafe
Under Executive Chef Nicholas McCann, Society Cafe invites you to the table for two distinct evenings centered on connection, community, and flavor.
Field & Feast — November 12th
A seasonal, story-driven dinner in partnership with GrowNYC, celebrating local farms and the sustainable ingredients that bring people together. Each course reflects the hands, histories, and places that define New York’s food culture. Guests will also enjoy a special dessert from Chef Zac Young, founder of PieCaken Bakeshop and known nationwide for his whimsical, all-in-one Thanksgiving sensation — The PieCaken.
Thanksgiving Prix Fixe — November 28th
A refined three-course holiday menu that blends warmth and polish in equal measure. Classic flavors reimagined, created for gathering and gratitude — and finished with Chef Zac Young’s legendary PieCaken, a sweet finale that’s pure celebration.
GrowNYC: Feeding New York with Purpose
For nearly 50 years, GrowNYC has kept farmers in business, millions of New Yorkers fed, and neighborhoods green, healthy, and resilient. Their work ensures that local food, sustainability, and community care remain connected.
Guests attending Field & Feast will meet the passionate individuals behind the evening’s featured farm and hear firsthand about their dedication to sustainable agriculture and the farm-to-table movement—proof that gratitude and good food begin at the source.
In just the past year, GrowNYC has:
– Operated 66 markets showcasing 246 regional farms across all five boroughs.
– Redeemed $4 million in SNAP and nutrition benefits—supporting farmers while feeding New Yorkers.
– Distributed 2.8 million pounds of local food through its Food Hub to nonprofits and food banks.
– Engaged 381,000+ New Yorkers in environmental and nutrition education.
– Revitalized 39 community gardens and welcomed over 1 million visitors to green spaces city-wide.
GrowNYC empowers New Yorkers to live greener, healthier, and more connected lives—and we’re honored to share their mission at our table.
Gratitude Beyond the Table
Bryant Park Winter Village
The city’s most beloved winter tradition is open. Skate beneath the skyline, browse local vendors, and sip something warm as the holidays quietly take shape.
A Day Trip to Beacon, NY
Hop the Metro-North from Grand Central and head north for an autumn reset. Explore Dia Beacon, wander Main Street’s shops and cafés, and take in the last blaze of Hudson Valley foliage before winter settles in.
A Walk to Nowhere in Particular
Lose track of your route through Tribeca or Greenwich Village. Gratitude often hides in the quiet rhythm of the city, somewhere between coffee and sunset.
Stay Grounded, Stay Inspired
From Walker Tribeca’s calm streets to Greenwich Village’s tree-lined corners, November is a season for pausing and appreciating where you are. Stay with us, gather meaningfully, and move through the city with gratitude.
